Beyond the backyard Beyond the backyard There's a small lake Beyond the tree line Wind makes the leaves shake Behind the lawn out back A lake is full of geese After the many bushes Some ducks can also be seen In the water there's some fish And big snapping turtles Some are called painted The grass around it is very fertile Many creatures come to drink Foxes, Coyotes, and skunks Raccoons and groundhogs Beavers there make their bunks The lake will freeze over soon And the ice becomes strong Skating is a great pastime Millions have done it for so long An assortment of wildlife resides In and beyond the tree line In the lake and surrounding We need them so let's all be kind ©Schizology Beyond the backyard #outside #poem✍🧡🧡💛 #Nature
