White The Woman Across the Street - Part 3 "Oh no! Robin yelled as he finally could figure out the answer to all his questions and rushed to slide open the curtain again. The glass from his hand fell and broke as he began to tremble like a leaf when his glance fell on a woman's silhouette behind a red curtain of an apartment across the street. She seemed to be holding a wine glass in one hand and a book in the other, dancing to a tune. Suddenly, she began to raise her hand in response to a hostile action against her, which looked like she was resisting. He could feel his foot on a glass piece, but the woman across the street, who seemed to be pleading for her dear life, made his pain negligible. Removing his foot from the glass piece, he slowly leaned sideways to see if he could get a clearer view of her room and the person on the other end, if any. The wine glass slipped from her hands, her hair tangled down, and she was on the ground within seconds. She fell like a lifeless leaf. In the room, there were lights. Robin immediately ran to his balcony to get a broader view of her room. As he reached the balcony, he saw the apartment with the windows closed, the curtains closed, the lights off, and nothing visible inside! He then immediately rushed to his hall, where he was before. But from there, too, the same view- windows closed, curtains closed, lights off, and nothing visible inside. Robin sighed profoundly and whispered, "I don't know who she was or where she belonged, but I understand her tiny, beautiful moment that suddenly crumbled down like a pack of cards, taking her life away. And no one would believe me if I told the world what I had seen." - The End - ©Krishnan #alone_sad_shayri #woman #microtale
