That's why pitch doesn't have to be green in this case because most of the swing happens in the air, not of the pitch unless it's a fresh wicket then because of the early moisture the balls slips through pitch, but later it's stopped happening because all the moisture has dried out by then and pitch tends to be old and dusty, and it makes the ball grip onto the pitch and turn.
