Not Again - A short story After five years, it was a rainy day again with a wonderful rainbow sprinkles the sky. The only day which reminds her about his first and best proposal. Their favourite bench where they used to spend the weekends is still there to draw her in the flashback. It's been so long years to walk in those old streets. So, she decided to go and sit on that same bench again. She with faster than earlier steps walked to get that sit. But, she was shocked and found that the bench is broken from one side. And, the strange part is a man in a three-piece suit cleaning the bench with his handkerchief and settle down with his work. She moved a few steps back and with a disappointment turn around. After walking for some distance, she met with an old man on a wheelchair and she unknowingly crossed him. Later, she comes to know that he is the same man who used to have an ice cream stall near that bench and now he has become too old. She rushed to that old man and greeted him wisely, he was not able to recognize her as she was in a saree and looked like a married woman. She anyhow managed to get him remembered about those days. After a few minutes, he said, "have you met your friend with whom you used to come to my stall often?" And this made her broken, as he become her ex-boyfriend. Only she knew that they are not together anymore, not together since he met with an accident to save her life outside this park. After which, she got married to another guy for the sake of her family. Looking at the old man's condition, she hides the actual reason. And tries to change the topic, but destiny wants something else or doesn't want to repeat it all again, maybe not again. The old man says again, "it's okay if you haven't met with him till now, but he used to visit this park often and do his work sitting on the same bench where you two spend your youth." And this leads her to be stunned, and she couldn't able to believe what the old man just said. Then she remembers the man cleaning the same bench and thought maybe he's the one. And the first question arises, "Is he alive?" And then questions entered like a tsunami, "Why didn't he approached me?", "Is he okay?", "I want to meet him again", "Maybe he's still there" and she rushed back to check him.
