Mother You taught me things That I didn't know Some things I can tell Some things I can show You taught me control That I didn't know Sometimes it can flow Sometimes it can blow You taught me the truth You taught me the lies Everything that is here Everything that dies You taught me more More than a school would You taught me less Less than a school should You taught me when to speak If it was my turn To not just talk loud But to listen and learn You are the best teacher The best of the preachers To love all of the liars To love all of the creatures You taught me to be free To not always agree Not to conform But to be just me You taught me life I wrote this poem over 20 years ago ©Schizology Mother #Mother #poem #Love
