Envy, thou rested thy head on my shoulders, Thou

Envy, thou rested thy head on my shoulders,
Thou paid heed to evil counselors,
And fell prey to thy own desires.

The green snake hissed and raised his hood,
Envy, thou spewed thy venom around.

The poison spread, a good name thus spoiled,
Thou looked on, though thy heart be torn, between thy act and thy weak conscience.

Thou have lived with thy guilt for all these days,
If wine was an lawyer, it would get all dark, souls to confess their crimes.

At the end, though, I have no bad blood, towards thou, but instead I took pity.

When envy, thou rested thy head on my shoulders.
