Letter to one of my favourite books

(in the caption) Dear Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone,

As it's been 6 years of you being in my bookshelf, and uncountable years of you being in my heart, you may already know a lot about me including the fact that I am a very confused person, like Harry has been in the whole book. You know, when I was called for an interview and asked to write a book review, I wrote about you. It was my first face-to-face interview, that too at a time when I was so stressed out that my mental illness started showing physical outbursts. Yet, I chose to hold your hand at such a crucial time; because I knew that you are the one where I can start over again and again and again.

You remember the nights when I used to fall asleep being tired of crying? You used to silently lie beside me, waiting for me to drown deep into your pages instead. I tried, you know, but I could not focus because of my blurry eyes and the terrible headaches. But, I did not want to lose the sight of yours- my beginning point; that's why with all the changing books coming from my bookshelf to my bed, you have been my constant. So, you see, you help me overcome my insecurities of commitment issues by making me believe that I too, can have constants in my life; I too, can choose things (and people) without being confused and cherophobic.

When I can't focus on anything, I pick you up and read 60 pages at a single go; I forget my breathing issues, my blurry eyes, headaches, heartbreaks, and every thing that puts weight upon my heart. I go to the world that is created by you, that resides in you, now in me. Hey, do you remember that I first read you as an e-book? That too, on my phone? My mother says that it's the reason behind my glasses. Maybe, it is; but I don't regret it. It reminds me of the days when I couldn't afford you but could afford to have weakened eye-sight for you. That makes me feel confident about love by showing me that I can be that much passionate about the things I truly love.
