Maybe I'll just man up
Men don't cry, do we?
Here I am, babying and disgracing manhood
Not just that tears well up in my eyes
I wail like nothing else

My chest aches
Not that anything hit me
I know where its from
Maybe its my soul
Elvira took a part of it when she left

I don't know if I can survive
Everything reminds me of her
The bus, as we held hands and whispered to each other
The flower garden as its our favorite spot
The spoons and plates as we hit them on each other
To make our favorite beats

If this is part of what it is to grow up
I'll rather remain a baby
At least I wouldn't have tested this kind of love
Not to think about losing my heart
I saw her yank it off as she banged that door

Maybe it wasnt meant to be
But then, why would she take part of me with her

Our eyes met
And I noticed that his were shiny
And blurred out just behind the thin film
He looked down on his chest
And stared at me

His chest revealed wounds that have since healed
Or so I thought
The tears in his eyes
And the words that followed
Made me know that though he had scars
His heart bore a deep wound
That not even time had kissed

I really thought he was distraught because of the scars on his chest
But no, he'd prefer ten thousand scars anywhere else
Than the one his heart bears
It's been more than ten years since it happened
But right now, his heart still breaks
He's sworn never to be at the mercy of another woman.
To him now, love is dead

She left with parts of him

She left with parts of him

I don't know why
You saw 'six'
And I kept seeing 'nine'

I could swear it's straight forward
You claim I'm blind
Hence, you could bet with your right big toe that it's six
We've traded blames and punches
For what we now know to be silly

If only I'd come to the other side
To see things through your eyes
Or you came my way to see how I view the world
Then, we'd be on the same page
And save the world from one less drama

Peradventure if everyone everywhere
Is conscious of the other side
Things will look up now and always

As I turned
I saw her coming
Wearing a large smile
She was looking at me
I turned to see who was behind me
There was no one
I fixed my eyes on her form as she walked closer
Oh glory to God
He made people beautiful
I wondered if I ever deserve this kind of smile
As she touched down
She smiled some more
And I saw a nice set of teeth
Then she said
Doctor, thank you for ...
I don't recall the bulk of her comments
But I remember her and how she got here
But mehn, she is stunning
And I guess I have to keep doing what I do Hmmm

Hmmm

And they joined me on the seat
The three of them
Aggressive noise makers
And as they talked, I saw him
With thick slashes of machete
And his entails crawling out
Though they didn't hear him
He was pleading for mercy
For all his wrongs
And for the good gone bad
He was beaten with razor studded whip
And oh my goodness
The site was nauseating
The wounds went deeper with each round of laughter
And I wondered how much was left of him
Finally a phone call interrupted their gist party
Maybe he has to hang on to life in their minds
Because each of those words they said about him
Made him die somewhere without his knowledge GoSsIp

He said this to me
Over and over
And meant every bit of it

'She's very beautiful
Homely and industrious
In fact she's from your place'

At a time I felt I faced a firing squad
And I wondered how much she paid him
For this advert

Like everything that we find here
He got tired
As I was clear on what I don't need now

Guy, why not help yourself out
I told him one afternoon
Why would you blot yourself from this equation
He took a deep breath
And like a pill, he swallowed hard

And boy, my counsel stood
They're waxing strong together
And it's good to see
That not all 'Back to sender' is harmful

At the time it was the craziest thing to think of
Not to talk of doing
But there I was with my thoughts and prayers
To term it struggle is disrespect
It was a royal rumble in me

Perhaps I was overzealous or ahead of myself
To what end was this going to be
After all it'd bring sadness and a deep in mood
I longed to see God talk to me
If You'll have me do this, speak to me
And own it with Your chest Sire

With my teeth gritted and hands clenched
My heart danced so fast as I decided to stand down
At that time, I knew that nothing would ruin this resolve
With tears in those eyes , I shook my head
Grabbed a lung full of air
And hoped for the best
Whatever comes my way

And I wish I did those earlier
Because life's been better

Lovely A and B were waiting
And hoping and praying
For an adjunct to their Penta
This would be the last one ever
They've sworn this way
After the fourth
But here they go again
This time, they're sure
It's time to hang their boots

When their minds were off the issue
And things were so normal
The new one not only threatened to
But she appeared
In beauty and bounty
Smiles everywhere
Kisses and hugs and love
She brought with her

It seems everything and everyone
Paused to herald her entry
Doors flung open
Allowing all sorts of favour and goodness enter
We don't need to wonder
Why she's called Bounty
Because she is really Obianuju Yasss

I was anticipating that moment
And it finally came
We were face to face with each other
And I wanted to know if all I heard
About you were as straight
How people are dying to hear you
Give voice to wisdom

But when you opened your mouth
I saw how trash was made first hand
The kind that none would admit to owning
I watched as you progressively dug
Seeking for lower depths
And of course, you found it
I honestly thought someone somewhere
Was whispering, 'lower, lower'

The sad thing was that
I didn't know how to leave
It wasn't even easy to meet you
And it wasn't free either
I watched as my money couldn't even kiss a proper bye

My phone rescued me
It vocalised and I excused myself
I needed a break from being tortured
Thank God for that breather
And it wasn't a breaking news
That I didn't come back

Duhhh Nil haste

Nil haste

They advised us to follow our hearts
In our quest to find love in this world
What did we know?
We quietly did as they said
With a lot of anticipation and glee

Only that they gave us half information
Little did we know that
Our lives would never be the same
And our hearts would never be complete again
As we lost some of it to some we once loved

Looking down on my chest
I can't even find the heart
The remaining chunk hang loosely on my sleeve

If there's something to learn
it's to make our hearts cooperate with the head
Scrap that
Make our heads the chief counsel
In this journey
Perhaps, they're not as emotional
We'll decide who or what is good for us
In plain daylight
These become choices we make with our whole chest LoveLite
