An angel was sent by Rudra’s grace Wrapped in pink, so soft and warm You enclasped your fingers around mine Since the day I brought you home Wide eyes that sought refuge Yet dreamy enough to serve purpose Stumbling steps that trailed about Ebullient now to see the world A petite but firm lady evolved The apple of my eye, My Sita My shadow, my first love My only precious treasure O Bhoomi, our playful banter Is something I will cherish forever Keep brimming with love, My child Spreading light wherever you go As you allayed Mithila’s griefs Do alleviate Ayodhya’s agonies too Words can’t suffice to express How much dear you are to me Just know you are Daddy’s little girl My Janaki, as you’ll always be My eyes well up as I send you away Sparkling in your wedding veil You are the vibrant rainbow To my monotonous life My naïve and pragmatic Bhoomi Closest to my heart And dearest to my mind Do remember, my child You will always be mine My lovely Vaidehi born To rise and shine.
