my old village it was a moment of privlage. Its beauty, purity and antientness is a sacred place for a rare traveller like me. We used to visit the village in our summer holidays but then our relatives and most of the villagers moved to cities but some of them remained there. They say that their emotions and affinity didn't let them leave that soil. After 14 year, when I visited the village, it was like my old memories welcomed me. Some of the things were still there, like the haunted giant banyan tree, old rusty hand pumps, ghostly shaped abandoned huts. 1 and half decade is enough to change the map of a place but here it stayed as divine view. That smell of the soil and the breeze was so appealing. I saw an old stage. It was made for the audience. I remember when I was 5, on the festive of Ugadi, as a gift to the villagers, a group of people from city had come to show them this movie on white screen. Luckily my family was there too to celebrate the new year. It was exactly like the stories of grandmother about the cinema flashings on curtains. Katra ( Jammu and Kashmir), I was very excited to visit the Vaishno Devi temple and it was my second time to visit there but I forget everything about Vaishno Devi when I visited the second time. It was such a fantastic trip. We were 12 persons. We all enjoyed a lot but I lost two times in Vaishno Devi, I was crying and called my mom from a unknown person's mobile but there was no network. We started climbing on 18 April in Evening at 7:00 and we visited the Vaishno Devi temple at 3:00 am. From Vaishno Devi temple, we went to Bhairav Naath temple but the ascent to Bhairav Naath temple was very steep. When we reached to the hotel again, we rest. After this, we travelled to Jammu and Amritsar. We visited to many temples in Jammu and in Amritsar, we went to Golden temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Wagah Border. Golden temple is a very peaceful place. We all enjoyed a lot on all these places. 🤗🤗🤗 It's been a while since you wrote a #shortstory. Athens in April, there was no scare of a virus. But a bigger scare knocked us out completely. We boarded the metro at Metaxourghio station to take the ride upto Osmonia two stops away. The compartment was packed and we managed to get a foothold near the door. We were surrounded by a group of hurly burly men talking in a foreign language and trying to engage us in conversation, while tightening their circle around us in the crowd. At Osmania when we disembarked, my husband found his wallet missing. We raised an alarm. Tad too late. The doors were shutting as we watched the pickpockets dissapear into the darkness of the moving train. Then to compound our miseries, found they had opened the chain of my hand bag and lifted the wallet inside. Credit cards, cash, all gone in a jiffy. Of course, reporting to the police yielded no results. The good part of the story is they never got access to our passports, kept deeper down in the handbag. Coorg with family & friends, it was a long drive of around 5 hours from Bangalore. We started early morning so that we could reach the homestay by afternoon. We reached there by lunch time.. had our lunch and went to the nearest waterfall. The water was too chilled to get inside. Initially everybody was not willing to get inside but still with a brave heart we all entered. Spent almost two three hours in water but still the heart wanted more & more. The twist in tale was when we came out we found so many leeches on our body. They had sucked so much blood and we didn't realised at all. It was so scary to see, only you get is tingling sensation on the skin but it does not hurt you. I had two or three bites only but others especially our friend had many. And we were teasing him that you are the most sucker of blood in society & that's the reason God sent so many leeches to bite you. It was an unforgettable & scary experience since later at night there was power cut, the forest was so dark. We came to know early morning from the owner that a leopard had come near to our homestay last night. Imagine our plight during the stay for the next two days.
