You and I,
Met the other day
Had our apprehensions
Fears , natural to a blind date
Surprisingly though,
Both came simply attired
No airs, either of us.
You waited patient ,Me a bit late
Your soft demeanour,Put me at ease
From your eyes,
I gathered you too, relaxed,
I think the blind paid off.
We felt in sync..

She fidgeted with her fingers while her eyes were fixated on the door
He looked at his reflection in the rearview mirror before his gaze shifted to the door
'You still have time, run before it's late' Her subconscious reminded
'You don't have time, go before it's late' His subconscious reminded
Clasping her hands together, she shut her eyes and took a deep breath
Clutching his steering wheel, he shut his eyes and took a deep breath.
Pulling her phone out, she scrolled through her gallery
Pushing the door open, he strode towards the hotel
Her fingers stopped when she heard the bell chime
His eyes stopped when he saw a girl sitting alone
She smiled "Looks like he has finally arrived"
He smiled "Looks like she has already arrived"
"Here goes nothing" She said as she put her phone aside
"Here goes nothing" He said as he strode towards her
Tearing her eyes away from the table, she peeked a glance at him
Taking a seat opposite her, he peeked a glance at her
Her frantically beating heart seemed to relax
His nervously shivering fingers seemed to relax
"Hi" They said at the same time
Hearing his voice, her anxiety walked out of the door
Hearing her voice, his anxiety flew out of the window

We met with the cup of coffee
that we ordered sitting in the cafe
of our own homes
everyday we used to meet
with vibes in the morning
and in the evening with the coffee again
and the dinner in the candle nights
the dinner that I prepared
was so bland but you savoured
it as if it was the most tasteful food.
We had a so long date that now
our desire grew to
see each other, of who we are

Sunshine

Wanted him to be mine after listening to this words, luckily I didn't ask him out saving myself from his interest in other exotic birds! 😅 #blinddatepoem

Two people poles apart,
Looking forward to a fresh start.
For him happiness was being at parties with music loud,
For her happiness was a silent corner far from the crowd.

While he bestowed her with patience and also cared,
She was stuck with her past fears, scared.
He made sure there was comfort and enough space,
For her to conquer her dreads at her own pace.

Both wanted to meet sooner than late,
But pandemic delayed their first date.
Finally they decide to meet offline.
Both reached the cafe at same time.

While she had a quirky, weird side hidden underneath,
He somehow discovers her by scratching the the surface beneath.
She quietly kept staring at his eyes,
Only to realise how quickly time flies.

To avoid avoid stigma of being awkward,
None of the two came forward,
Two overthinkers in thoughts bugged,
Forgot that they hadn't even hugged!!

She was done with chasing perfections,
Like an idiot, smiled at his imperfections.
This time she didn't need beach, stars or fireflies,
His vulnerable side gave her butterflies.

Agreeing to better late than never,
You have been the best blind date ever.
This is something I have been longing to say,
Can You & I give US a chance today?
