ALONE IN THE CITY #yqbaba #yostowrimo #iamaloneinthecity I had an interview scheduled in a big city. Two days to go and there was hardly any time left time to finish packing and saying my goodbyes to all the village folk. I arrived with trepidation, bewildered and feeling lost. Taking a bus to the lodge arranged for my stay, i thankfully secured a window seat where i plonked myself so that I could take in n absorb the sights outa the window. The smell of sweat hit me as a frail women came n sat down beside me.

ALONE IN THE CITY She screamed at bus conductor asking to stop the bus on her stop. She desperately wanted to make a seen but she didn't had time for silly fights. She got off the bus a little away from her stop and dragged her luggage with her. "ALONE IN THE NIGHT" It was 2 in the night when the bus dropped me on the periphery of the city. There was no other human to be seen. Dogs howled from the distance. My steps faltered and I walked further. I saw two flashing light from far away flickering and glowing at its best as if to attract my eyes. Some relief that it brought me I suppose since I gathered all my courage and waved at it to halt. The blurred vision was clearing as the bus approached little more closer. Suddenly, I heard loud volume of the drums that generally they play during the weddings. The bus was well lit and decorated with flowers has enough people that occupied the empty seats. It stopped exactly in front of me to step in. The bus has just one seat empty which was suppose to be of the bride's. I quickly occupied the seat and the bus took off in thick mist where it pinched my nerves to panic on realising that I was alone in the bus that looks burnt in an accident some years ago.. #shortstory #yostowrimo #iamaloneinthecity #shorttales #yqbaba #yqwriters #thoughts #storywriting
