#### La Llorona #### Do you remember the song I wrote, The song that spat on the galaxies and Condoned the stars because they weren't your eyes? Or the one that disregarded the dawn And detested the summer -- for they weren't as Bright as your smile? Or perhaps that one reducing the spring Into a useless puddle of shame -- Because it couldn't offer half the colours You painted my heart with? Or the one which deprived the oceans of the blues And the forests of the greens -- Stripped the earth off from all its splenders And immolated them at your feet? Do you remember the songs darling, The songs that were my children? They fed on my heart, thrived in your love, And grew up in my soul like infants in the womb! Those were the songs I gave birth to, My children whom I've killed with my bare hands. I was angry darling, angry like a wounded beast -- So I crushed them, I choked them, Sliced them into thousand pieces! I bathed in their blood, crumbled their bones into dust And threw them away deep into the river With the ashes of memories and betrayal you left. For what use they will be of if you've deserted me? Now that the fire of vengeance has burnt to death, dearest, And I seek solace from the debris and ashes -- They refuse to grant my plea As I beg for one more song to foster! So now in the frosty nights of winter I meander in the bald woods And roam around the dead river, Howling like a lone wolf looking for her cubs!
