As she got to know him better and his childhood issues she understood the reason. He was always shouted at and hit badly by his step dad. He was made to feel as if he could never do anything right. As if he was a good for nothing. These played on his subconscious and lowered his self confidence. He developed an inferiority complex. Now that she knew the underlying reason she started working on his confidence. Slowly it bore fruit. There are people, who are, like this; and there is, always, an underlying factor that causes such attitude. So, be kind. Always. Yet, if you can; help them realize self-worth. Open for collaboration.
